Complex products. Clearly in motion.

Imagine Yes develops 3D product films, technical explainer films and interactive applications for companies – from the first idea to the final delivery.

We make products visible before they are built, show processes no camera can capture, and combine 3D with live-action filming or generative AI where needed.

Our 3D showreel

From emotional product films and technical systems to photorealistic worlds: our showreel shows the range of our 3D productions.

Selected 3D projects

Product films, technical explainer films and interactive applications – each project with its own task and its own path to the solution.

Photorealistic 3D animation · product film · storytelling

BMW Babyracer – a product launch as a little story

For the BMW Babyracer a photorealistic 3D animation was created that doesn't just show the product but stages it in an entertaining way.

Characters and a small story turn the product presentation into an emotional film that viewers can connect with.

Technical 3D explainer film · energy · B2B communication

Rolls-Royce Power Systems – microgrids explained clearly

Microgrids connect different energy sources, storage units and consumers into one complex system. With 3D animation we make these relationships visible and guide understandably through their interplay.

The film shows how technologies in need of explanation can be structured clearly and staged to a high standard at the same time.

3D product film · product variants · easy choice

BMW Choose and Charge – experience charging options before deciding

Anyone buying a BMW can choose between different charging solutions. A 3D product film makes the different options visible and helps compare products and functions vividly before the decision is made.

Gas Genset in 3D – technical precision, cinematically staged

A gas genset is assembled component by component – staged with the precision and quality of a high-end watch commercial. This turns a complex technical product into an emotional brand experience.

The fully animated product trailer makes the assembly of a gas genset tangible like the assembly of a fine watch movement.

Rolls-Royce BESS – explore a battery storage construction site virtually

For Rolls-Royce Power Systems we developed a virtual battery storage construction site that can be explored spatially with a VR headset and via a web application – here directly in the browser, without a headset.

Visitors move from point to point through the plant, look around, examine components and discover animated elements. Elevated areas of the plant also become virtually accessible.

The application was developed for a trade show and for the website. This makes a complex BESS plant vividly and interactively tangible, independent of the real location.

Live-action filming meets 3D

Real images, extended by what no camera can do.

Live-action filming · photorealistic 3D animation · corporate film

1&1 – live-action filming and 3D in one brand film

For the 1&1 brand film we produced live-action footage in Montabaur and Karlsruhe and complemented it with specially developed 3D sequences: a photorealistic robot works in the data center, an animated DNA strand translates the identity of 1&1 into a visual motif, and a 3D map makes the nationwide infrastructure visible. All elements were created in one joint production.

DTM / Red Bull – a camera ride that would be impossible for real

For a one-minute DTM image trailer we shot real racing footage in Spielberg. In post-production we extended the film with a 3D racing engine and a spectacular camera ride into its interior. The film thus combines the energy of real motorsport with a view no real camera could ever provide.

Shown here as a loop: the 3D camera ride through the engine. In the trailer it sits at 0:34; the rest is live action. Full film on the project page

What we produce with 3D

From product launch to VR application.

Product films and product launches

Products, variants and functions staged photorealistically or stylized – even before a final product is available for a classic shoot.

Technical explainer films and process visualization

Machines, systems and processes presented understandably, from the visible overall product to the processes inside it.

3D for live-action filming and post-production

Digital products, environments, maps and camera rides as part of a live-action film. Imagine Yes coordinates shoot, 3D and post-production in one joint process.

When a camera is not enough

3D is the method when it can't be done for real.

3D makes particular sense when something does not yet exist in reality, is not accessible or can only be shown in a way that is hard to understand.

  • visualize products before they are finished
  • make technical functions and inner processes visible
  • show controlled product and material variants
  • experience large plants independent of their location
  • develop physically impossible camera rides
  • complement real footage with precise digital elements

We choose the method by task and desired result – not by which technology happens to be in the spotlight.

Live-action filming, 3D and generative AI

Not every scene has to be created with the same method.

Filming real people and places creates closeness and authenticity. 3D enables technical precision, controlled movements and fully plannable products. Generative AI opens up additional visual worlds and atmospheric variants.

For Rolls-Royce Power Systems, for example, we built different ships as 3D models and then used them as a controlled basis for generative AI scenes.

Imagine Yes brings the required methods together in one joint production – with one point of contact and clear approvals.

From idea to finished 3D production

Six steps, six approval points.

01

Task and communication goal

We clarify target group, message, use, desired visual world and technical requirements.

02

Data and references

We check which 3D models, CAD data, drawings, photos or references exist and which elements need to be built from scratch.

03

Concept and storyboard

We develop dramaturgy, scenes and camera work and make the later animation visible early on.

04

Modeling and look development

Products, environments, materials and light are built and defined in agreed style frames.

05

Animation and production

After approval we animate products, cameras and processes and combine them with live-action filming or other production methods where needed.

06

Post-production and delivery

Editing, compositing, graphics, voice-over, music and sound design bring all elements together. Then we create the required formats, languages and versions.

Every phase ends with a clear approval point. This keeps technical representation, visual world, deadlines and budget under control.

Precision and clarity

A correct 3D model alone does not make a good film.

Imagine Yes turns technical information into a clear dramaturgy and a visual language that suits the target group. Coordination with product, engineering and marketing teams is bundled in one joint production process.

The result: films that remain technically sound and still attract attention.
